Thank you notes are a great way to show appreciation for individuals who attend special events. These are not often sent out; however this is an excellent sentiment for individual who attended and brought gifts or food. There is certain etiquette for sending out these thoughtful letters. It is proper for the host of a party or event to write and send these out within a week. Thank you notes are a wonderful method to give the guests an idea that they were welcomed and it was important for them to attend the event. Even though this process is not often thought of, it is a nice consideration for the individual who had to make special arraignments to be present at the affair.

There are three methods an individual could complete thank you notes and deliver them. A hand written note is an excellent way to express how much every guest means to them and their gifts or attendance. An email message is less formal, however it could be a heart felt letter as well. An individual could call up each person and thank them directly on the phone. It is completely up to the host of the party on how to handle the situation. However, if it was a formal affair, a formal hand-written note may be the most appropriate way to achieve this goal.

The thank you note needs to be a personal statement. It should not be mass produced. When writing each guest, state their first name or nickname. This will give them the idea that this letter was for them and only them. Mention the gift they gave and ask questions like how they realized this was exactly what the host wanted. If there were not gifts at this party or if the individual forgets that gift was from them, mention something funny or witty that happened at the party. A person needs to be as friendly as possible. Unless this was a business, formal affair personality means everything.

If an individual is writing thank you notes for a business affair, more formal words should be used. Instead of writing just their first name, a person may want to express their full name with Mr. or Miss at the beginning. A little personality is a must. However, a person needs to speak in a proper tone.

Thank you notes are not complicated to write or send off. The fear of not sounding appropriate is what keeps individuals from completing these notes. It is better to sound a little more personal than not to send these letters to the guests at all. They do not have to be large or extensive.

All these thank you notes need to do is show appreciation for the gifts or the time they took to come to the event. It is an important step in any party situation. The guests will feel more respected and valued when they receive their thank you note.
