Use eco-friendly plastic bags when going grocery shopping

Each year alone in the US people are using at least 100 million grocery bags. To make these bags there are around 1 million crude oil barrels used, which is quite a lot! The main problem with this picture is that generally once the bags have been used one time or a few times, they are discarded without further thought and they take at least 40 years a piece to properly decompose.

This is what makes a strong case for stopping pollution with the regular plastic bags. One of the ways to get around this, or at least to use less bags is to make use of the recyclable shopping bags. They can be used over and over again, so instead of buying a new bag each time you go shopping, you can simply reuse your existing one. Eco friendly shopping bags are a must these days, and luckily some countries have started manufacturing them. They tend to decompose faster to help keep our environment safer.

Another reason why many people prefer using the eco-friendly plastic bags are due to the fact that they can be quite trendy with the many different colors, designs and styles that they are available in. Some bags can be personalized with your own unique logo, fabric paints and various adorning beads.

What you can do in order to help promote these bags is simply giving them away to friends as gifts. You could personalize them, as I mentioned before, with your own logo or text. Giving these away will help spread the word on how important helping our eco-system is and how much you like participating in it as well. Of course, the fact that people get a little education in the process on using environmental-friendly bags is a major plus.

With the way our world is turning these days, doing everything we can to help our environment survive is critical. If we don't do it, who else will?
